Road to Rio Olympics

Project: Ride into the Rio Olympic Games

How do you bring the Olympic games to your consumers? Give them the opportunity to immerse themselves in the games through Virtual Reality (VR) 360 video content. The experience through the Virtual Reality gave the consumer an up close and personal sense of riding the BMX course with Olympic athlete Brooke Crain, or attacking the canoe slalom with Casey Eichfeld or breathtaking mountain bike racing with Lea Davidson, which made consumers feel like they were competing in the Olympic sport with these heroes. The custom videos were shot through the eyes of the athletes and available to consumers through a P&G shopper promotion at 11 retailers nationwide.

Challenge:

Every four years, countries around the world look forward to the Summer Olympic Games. As lead agency of Procter and Gamble, we needed to leverage P&G's Olympic sponsorship and the excitement surrounding the 2016 Summer Olympics to create a campaign that would get shoppers to purchase P&G products in multiple regional stores.

My Role:

Develop engaging and dynamic e-blasts and web banners, telling the story of how exciting it is to view the virtual reality videos of Olympic athletes going to the Rio Olympic Games through Procter and Gamble's virtual reality viewer.
